Continuous improvement tool for optimizing processes in the supplies warehouse of the company Arte Textil Latino SAC

Abstract

Arte Textil Latino SAC is a company in the textile sector, which in recent years has detected problems in its logistics area, specifically in the shipping warehouse. Therefore, through the application of PHVA -a tool for continuous improvement-, it has allowed that the processes that were carried out in an empirical way, are carried out in an organized and standardized way, achieving in this way the optimization of the processes of the shipping warehouse. The purpose of the study was to determine how the use of the PHVA tool in the shipping warehouse of the company Arte Textil Latino SAC can optimize the identified processes. The tool of the continuous improvement was used for the solution of its problems, through a quali-quantitative design of investigation-action, being complemented with a descriptive prospective longitudinal design. Three instruments were used: the in-depth interview, which allowed to obtain deep information about the experiences of the participants with respect to the problems that arose in the shipping warehouse of the company Arte Textil Latino SAC; the non-structured observation, which served to analyze and record the behavior of the workers in the development of the processes of the area, and the structured observation or checklists, which allowed to make a comparison before and after the implementation of the PHVA. The application of the continuous improvement tool has optimized the processes of the shipping warehouse of the company Arte Textil Latino SAC. According to the research results, it is concluded that by implementing the continuous improvement tools, the processes are successfully optimized in the shipping warehouse of Arte Textil Latino SAC.
