Artificial intelligence, process automation, operational efficiencyAbstract
This systematic review aimed to analyse the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on operational efficiency and process automation within the professional area of ??administration. A comprehensive search was conducted in the SCOPUS, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases, identifying 17 relevant studies published between 2019 and 2024 that met the pre-established inclusion criteria. The selected studies spanned diverse industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, finance, technology and the public sector, and used a variety of methodologies, such as case studies, literature reviews, field studies and quantitative analysis. The results revealed that AI offers great potential to improve operational efficiency, optimise decision-making, reduce costs and transform human resource management. However, AI implementation also presents challenges such as technical complexity, lack of skills and resistance to change, which require strategic planning and effective change management. It is concluded that AI is redefining the administration landscape, offering unprecedented opportunities for innovation and value creation. Companies that adopt these technologies strategically and responsibly will be better positioned to compete in an increasingly dynamic and complex business environment.
